Chief Don Eagle

Wrestler Chief Don Eagle (Sometimes credited as War-Eagle) was a first-nations Canadian of the Mohawk tribe. He wrestled in Native American garb with the traditional Mohawk haircut from 1945 to 1953. He got his back broken in the ring by faux-Nazi heel Hans Schmidt in 1953 and had to retire. After years of chronic pain his death was ruled a suicide in 1966.
