Bob Kurtz interviews Trent from the Magazine in June 2019.
Unfortunately in the time since this video was taken the magazine has closed, Bob Melnardi has died since this interview although Trent and Martin are still around. The store is now owned by Dennis Bell of the Bob Mizer Foundation.
I really loved The Magazine.
And for so many reasons.
Of course I really loved the variety of gay porn they always had. Things you wouldn’t find anywhere else. Books, calendars, magazines, photos, DVDs, VHS, and so much more. And also all the regular magazines. If you could think of it they could find it.
The guys that ran it were so great in every way.
I would go to The Magazine whenever I was in San Francisco. I count myself fortunate to have come across it and experience it so often.
When the Mizer Foundation opened upstairs I felt it was quite appropriate. And now they have taken over the space and it’s sort of “in the family” still. Though I was always miss The Magazine.
Forgot to thank you for the interview and also the photos of the interior. Of course I never got to take any photos inside.
So this is really a treasure.
