Paul Richter was a sculptor and anatomist whose early figure studies were used to train artists in anatomy and how to draw the human form. He rather famously documented the physiques at the 1900 Paris Olympics.

These are both intriguing and beautiful. It begs the question what some of these men did outside of modeling. Some of their buddies were exceptionally muscular for the time: or was art model an actual career then?
So difficult to say. I’m just surprised that men were fine with being naked in the 1890s!
